The compelling storyteller has created some of the most iconic movies, scenes and scripts. This week for Steamy Streaming, PROVOKR curates the best of the best.

THE OUTSIDERS

The famous S. E. Hinton novel was adapted by Francis Ford Coppola in 1983. The all-star cast features Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, C. Thomas Howell and Ralph Macchio. Watch this punk movie once and you’ll be golden forever.

THE GODFATHER

Now, when we say The Godfather, it implies you should watch the whole trilogy. Likely his most-quoted and most-iconic work, Francis Ford Coppola demonstrated what an authentic Italian mob film should be. The Marlon Brando and Al Pacino (and a young Sofia Coppola) feature is worth a rewatch.

The Godfather is available to rent on Amazon Prime.

APOCALYPSE NOW

Martin Sheen is a man with a mission in this Vietnam-set war movie. Apocalypse Now shows just how ugly the Vietnam War was. This masterpiece starring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, Laurence Fishburne and Harrison Ford should be at the top of your list.

Apocalypse Now is available on Hulu.

THE COTTON CLUB

This 1984 film is a mob story set in Harlem’s Cotton Club during the Harlem Renaissance. Francis Ford Coppola cast his nephew Nicolas Cage to be the feature in one of the interweaving stories. The film also stars Richard Gere, Diane Lane, James Remar and Bob Hoskins.

The Cotton Club is available on Cinemax.

BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA

Gary Oldman has a knack for being unrecognizable in his roles. The British actor assumed the role of Count Dracula. The blood-sucking vampire has his sights set on Mina, played by Winona Ryder at the peak of her career. Francis Ford Coppola puts his distinctive stamp on the 1992 film.
