Over the past few years, Lady Gaga has been enjoying the fruits of her hard work as an artist. She’s a Platinum-selling and Grammy winning recording artist. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song for “Til It Happens to You” for the documentary The Hunting Ground.

She tried her hand at acting on the TV show American Horror Story: Hotel, where she gained an Emmy Award nomination, and she’s going to make her film debut in the upcoming remake of A Star Is Born. In it, Gaga (whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) plays Ally, a young singer and actress on the verge of fame and success, while Bradley Cooper, who plays Jackson Maine, a musician who helps her, as he battles alcoholism that sends his own music career into a downward spiral.

Cooper co-wrote, co-produced, and directs the remake, which already has considerable Oscar buzz based on the material and Mr. Cooper’s pedigree in Hollywood. Lady Gaga is also getting a lot of buzz just based on her talent and her ability to shine.

“It all came down to this broken love story, and there’s no better way to express that than through singing because there’s nowhere to hide when you’re singing. Your whole body is electrified,” Cooper told EW in late 2017. “That was the initial igniter of the passion for me.”

Musically, Lady Gaga has a new album coming out sometime in late 2018, or early 2019. She just finished the Joanne World Tour in late 2017, so she’s now in the studio writing and recording new songs for her untitled album, which is her sixth.

Not much is known about her new album, but Lady Gaga has a busy year coming up with the release of A Star Is Born and hopefully an award campaign that would lead into early 2019.

“I’ve started writing,” Lady Gaga told EW in 2017.  “I have a lot of ideas and a lot of things I want to create, so you’ll see in a bit. I need some time to create.”

She continued, “Every single one of my albums — no matter if they were received with critical acclaim, commercial acclaim, or artistic acclaim — every time I plant my feet further into myself, and that is what I believe to be honorable as an artist. You fall on the sword always. It’s your work, and when I make my work, there’s a reason and I think about it and I love it, and that’s what matters.”

We’ll see what she has in store for her “Little Monsters” in music and on the big screen. The trailer for A Star Is Born looks great and new music from Lady Gaga is certainly welcomed! Here’s to a successful 2019 for Ms. Germanotta.

A Star is Born hits screens October 5th.
