Gary Clark Jr’s Hot Licks
Justice League’s Guitar Superhero
With the release of the film Justice League later this week, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment has also dropped the superhero movie’s soundtrack. The score is from music vet Danny Elfman, with a few pop tracks from The White Stripes, Gang of Youth, and most notably, Gary Clark Jr.’s cover of The Beatles hit, “Come Together.”
Gary Clark Jr. has a knack for mashing blues, soul, and rock into his own style of music. He perfectly shapes one of the Fab Four’s most popular songs into something that he can call his own with wild guitar riffs, a thumping beat, and a sexy guitar solo that makes “Come Together” unforgettable.
The music video features scenes from Justice League, while Gary Clark Jr. seduces the viewer with his rock’ n’ roll presence and signature style. Director Zack Snyder is usually on the nose with his music choices for his movies, so it’s easy to see why he wanted “Come Together” in the film, which follows big ticket superheroes, such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, coming together to battle an alien threat. It also introduces new heroes to the DC Extended Universe, including The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman.
Justice League hits theaters everywhere on November 17, while its soundtrack is available right now on Spotify and iTunes.
