The Wolfpack

A haunting documentary about a family imprisoned in NYC

The documentary that took Sundance by storm in 2015, The Wolfpack tells the fascinating story of the Angulo family’s six sons, a daughter, and their mother who were locked inside their four-bedroom apartment on the Lower East Side for fourteen years by the dogmatic father. The boys’ only solace was a huge collection of movies they watched obsessively, memorized, and reenacted, complete with detailed costumes and props ingeniously created out of materials in their apartment.

Directed by Crystal Moselle , who discovered the strange looking boys dressed like characters in Reservoir Dogs on one of their rare visits to the outside world, this is a haunting tale of a family cut off from society and how the love of film led to its ultimate liberation.
