We recently wrote about Ben Affleck, so today we’re going to look at his best friend and writing/producing partner, Matt Damon. Damon has impressed us since he co-wrote (with Affleck) and starred in 1997’s Good Will Hunting. The movie earned them an Academy Award for best screenplay, and a Best Actor nomination for Damon. He has maintained his A-list status for the last two decades, and it’s no surprise why. He’s given great performances in films like Saving Private Ryan, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and The Martian. In addition to his acting talents, he’s continued to produce. He has some exciting projects, both behind and in front of the camera, on the horizon. Let’s take a look at them.

Stillwater

Damon stars in this upcoming crime drama directed by Tom McCarthy, as Bill Baker, whose daughter Allison (Abigail Breslin) is convicted of a murder she did not commit. Bill travels from Oklahoma to France to do whatever is necessary to get his daughter out of jail. Stillwater is scheduled for release on November 6, 2020.

The Last Duel

Damon teamed up with Affleck again to co-produce and star in this Ridley Scott-directed movie. Set in 14th century France, King Charles VI (Affleck) orders Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver) and Knight Jean de Carrouge (Damon) to settle a dispute with a fight to the death. The Last Duel is expected to come out in October 2021.

Witness for the Prosecution

Damon is credited as a producer on this upcoming adaptation of the Agatha Christie mystery. No one knows if he will also play a role in the film. Ben Affleck will direct and star in the picture, so there is a good chance that Damon will at least make a cameo appearance. There is no release date just yet.
