Jennifer Lopez’s Next Act
New Film, New Album, New Love
It’s almost second nature for Jennifer Lopez to reinvent herself. The actor, singer/songwriter, former Fly Girl, and producer has been showing off her immeasurable talent for almost 30 years. And 2018 has been a particularly busy year for La Lopez. Besides completing the final season of her NBC cop thriller TV series, Shades of Blue, she’s just released the music video for her new single, “Te Gusté” with Latin trap superstar Bad Bunny. This flirty video collab shows the two performers in various states of undress (ok, maybe that’s just Jennifer wearing those revealing bikinis, but that’s just fine by us), singing about their mutual attraction in hot tropical jungle settings. The single is off Lopez’s highly, HIGHLY anticipated yet still unreleased new album, Por Primera Vez.
This follows last spring’s super-hot single/video she made with DJ Khaled and Cardi B, “Dinero.” Check that out below.
But we’re most happy to welcome the sexy performer back to the big screen—it’s been three years, for godsakes—in her next film, Second Act. The classic rom-com features Lopez as Maya, a street-smart assistant manager in a Target-like store, who is passed over—again—for the manager’s position because she doesn’t have a college degree. With the slightly unethical help of her best friend (the hilarious Leah Remini), she gets a totally undeserved interview in a huge corporation and ends up running her own creative department. Of course, she’s perfectly suited for the position but she’s up against all odds of succeeding. Her romantic lead is none other than the surprisingly sexy This Is Us star, Milo Ventimiglia, playing her supportive boyfriend, Trey. An unpredictably sweet film, Lopez gets to show off not only her comedic chops but her sincere dramatic turns as well.
In the meantime, we’re loving Lopez’s current romance with baseball legend, Alex Rodriguez. The red hot lovers have been PDAing all year long with absolutely no plans of slowing down. Is there going to be a ring under the Lopez/Rodriguez Christmas tree this year? Now that would be the perfect ending to this real-life romantic comedy.
Second Act opens December 21st.
