Girls interrupted by groundbreaking Get Out

Allison Williams‘s resumé may be short but it certainly packs a punch. The gorgeous daughter of TV anchor Brian Williams, was one of the main stars in the groundbreaking HBO series, Girls; she was the titular character in 2014’s Peter Pan LIVE; and she’s currently getting rave reviews for her role in this year’s most provocative film, Get Out.

The horror movie is about young interracial couple (Daniel Kaluuya and Williams) visiting her liberal parents’ rural albeit ominous country home for the weekend. Everything appears normal until it is decidedly not normal and that’s when the horror truly begins. No spoilers but the film will give you nightmares if you’re meeting your bae’s folks over the holidays. Written and directed by Jordan Peele (Key & Peele), Get Out is already on many Best of 2017 lists, as is Allison’s performance.

2018 looks to be just as exciting for the 29-year-old actress. Allison is currently filming Patrick Melrose, a Showtime series starring Benedict Cumberbatch based on the novels by Edward St. Aubyn about his traumatic childhood involving alcoholism, heroin, and death. And early next year she begins shooting The Perfection, a horror film about two female cellists with sinister obsessions, created by Girls writer/director, Richard Shepard.

Patrick Melrose is due out in 2018 on Showtime.
