Adrift with Sam Claflin

He Sails Off Course with Shailene Woodley

Brit-born Sam Claflin’s incredibly fit physique leaves the impression that the 32-year-old is an athlete, perhaps a tennis star or soccer player. In fact, Sam was poised to go pro in British football, until an accident benched him. Luckily for us, he pursued acting as a result.

Many recognize the drool-worthy actor from his roles in every huge franchise of recent years: Pirates of the Caribbean, The Hunger Games, and Snow White and the Huntsman. He romanced Khaleesi herself when he co-starred with Emilia Clarke in 2016’s tender weeper, Me Before You, playing a paralyzed millionaire who falls for his nurse. And in last year’s mysterious drama, My Cousin Rachel, he spent most of the film torn between lust and trust for his cousin, played by Rachel Weisz, who may or may not be a sexy murderer.

In the upcoming Adrift, Sam plays Richard, an adventurer about to sail around the world. He meets the beautiful Tami (Shailene Woodley) whose wanderlust–emphasis on the word lust—is even greater than his. Together they sail off into the sunset.

If you’re a fan of the film The Perfect Storm, this catastrophic thriller will be your cup of seawater. After enduring one of the scariest wave crashing storms, the young lovers have to survive on a broken boat, with very little food and water, and oh, yeah, thousands of miles from land. Will they make it? We’ll have to wait until June 1st to find out.
