Naomi Campbell Rules
Actress, Model, CFDA Winner, Provocateur!
Supermodel extraordinaire Naomi Campbell may be 47, which is practically ancient in model years, but the 5’9” beauty is still as vibrant and relevant as ever. Born in London to a professional dancer, she got her start appearing in a Bob Marley video when she was just seven years old, and by the time she was sixteen, her modeling career was already heating up.
It didn’t take long for the stunner to become one of the most recognizable women in the world. But when the term “supermodel” became an actual thing, Naomi joined fellow catwalkers Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista, to form the Trinity, the highest paid trio of models on the runways. And they deserved every one of those millions of dollars they earned. These three taught the world what it meant to be that famous and influential in the fashion world. In fact, it makes complete sense that Naomi was the muse to legendary designer Azzedine Alaïa.
In June, Naomi will receive the Fashion Icon Award at the CFDA Awards ceremony in recognition of her decades-long career. She joins an illustrious band of women including Beyoncé, Rhianna, and Kate Moss. But Naomi isn’t just a pretty face. She’s being acting in television and films as well. She was a coach and a judge on the American and British versions of the modeling competition, The Face, and she’s appeared in Empire and American Horror Story: Hotel. Next month, she has a juicy role in the zany Amy Schumer comedy, I Feel Pretty, playing an executive at a beauty line.
Clearly Naomi Campbell has no intention of retiring. And with that beauty and talent, why should she?
