Black Mirror Cracks
The creepy, spine-tingling series is back
Netflix‘s never-ending roll out of new and impressive content continues with the upcoming fourth season of Black Mirror. An anthology horror series in the vein of The Twilight Zone, each of Black Mirror‘s standalone episodes explore technology, human nature, and society’s flaws in a way that would make Rod Serling proud. The brainchild of British writer and comedian Charlie Brooker, the show was originally produced for BBC, but starting with season 3, the show was picked up by Netflix, who had been airing the show in the USA since the start.
True to its nature, season 4 has been shrouded in mystery, but the latest trailer from Netflix has revealed the titles and some imagery from each of the six episodes. Among them, USS Callister looks like it could be a subversive homage to Star Trek (starring Fargo‘s Jesse Plemons as a Captain Kirk-esque leader), and Metalhead appears to be an old-school, black and white tribute to horror tales of yore.
Of course, nothing is as it seems in the terrifying technology world of Black Mirror, it’s a sure bet that these episodes will have more than their fair share of shocking moments, twisted horror, unsettling imagery, and pitch-black comedy, all acting as a twisted reflection of contemporary life.
Season 4 of Black Mirror debuts later this year on Netflix. In the meantime, check out these other videos created to encourage our continued interest in this fascinating series.
