The alluring actress returns with 5 projects

The gorgeous, talented Spanish actor. Penelope Cruz has been busy since giving birth to her second child with her husband, actor Javier Bardem, in 2013. She has three films coming out this fall, including the remake of Murder on the Orient Express with her buddy Johnny Depp and Loving Pablo about the affair between Pablo Escobar and Colombian TV journalist, Virginia Vallejo, co-starring Bardem in the title role. Fun fact: Cruz and Bardem are the only Spanish actors to win Academy Awards: she got Best Supporting Actress for Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and he won Best Supporting Actor for No Country For Old Men.

This month, Cruz‘s Spanish film The Queen of Spain opens, a follow-up to the 1998 movie, The Girl of Your Dreams, about a company of Spanish actors making a film in Hitler’s Germany. Director Fernando Trueba reunites many of the same actors 20 years later for this spoof about the misadventures of the troupe trying to make an American film in 1950s Spain. Cruz appears to be in her element in this comedy, which has similar absurdist qualities to films by her mentor, director Pedro Almodóvar.

Next year she co-stars again—for the fourth time—with Bardem in Everybody Knows, a psychological thriller about a woman who returns home to Spain with her Argentinian family for a brief visit, and things go terribly wrong.

Of course, PROVOKR is most excited to see Cruz in the 2018 FX TV series, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story in which she plays the murdered designer’s sister, Donatella Versace. Until then, enjoy The Queen of Spain trailer and these brand new clips from Loving Pablo.
